Founder’s Associate

Overview

We’re looking for an excellent, all-round operator. Someone with unstoppable grit, a relentless bias to action, and a “make it happen” mentality.

You’ll be joining the trenches in a Y-Combinator backed AI company in London. You’ll be inspired by the mission to deploy technology to unlock the bureaucracy of getting things built. And you’ll be pumped to have a chance to work with a relentlessly driven, high-performance, ambitious team.

What to Expect

You’re joining an early stage startup as an early employee. No single week will be the same. 

You’ll get an MBA’s worth of education in the first month, and be working to level-up our customer success, customer implementation, sales and product divisions. But it will be whatever the startup needs at the time. The reality is we’re building and iterating every day.

You’ll be working directly for the founders, working to scale SchemeFlow the next 100x. There will be epic tasks, and painful tasks. The common denominator is the “to-do” list will stretch far into the distance, and you’ll become excellent at prioritizing what best moves the needle for business impact.

Here’s what a typical week could look like in the next 3 months:

• Run 15 minute calls with ten new customers individually, onboarding them and walking them through how to use SchemeFlow.
• Setup new generative reports for customers (likely 3 - 4 per week).
• Jump on customer feedback calls, then implement their feedback.
• AI prompt engineering for new sections of technical reports.
• Communicate new features to customers, recording videos, how-to guides, emails.
• Read the new press releases from the government, understand what new data has been released across the technical disciplines we serve.
• Identify 250 prospective customers on LinkedIn, update the CRM and communicate with them all.
• Understand the latest AI model releases, and how we can implement them.
• Keep on top of every new AI tool and apply them to your work to 100x your productivity.

Location

We believe the best work happens in-person. That should be your default expectation.

• 5 days a week in person at SchemeFlow HQ in WeWork in Central London.
• Opportunities to Travel (We have a growing customer base across the UK and US that need servicing).
• Potential relocation opportunity to San Francisco depending on visa + business need in next 12 - 24 months.

Hours

This is a high-output role. You’ll be trusted to deliver results fast, often ahead of traditional timelines. You’ll be surrounded by ambitious teammates bringing energy and urgency to their work, and going the extra mile.

Compensation

• £45 - £55k depending on experience.
• Our employee equity plan is planned to launch in the next 12 months - early employees will be rewarded for their impact. If SchemeFlow is successful, you may never need to work again.

Qualifications

• You will likely have a first class degree from a top university (such as Oxford, Cambridge, or international equivalents).
• You will likely have been highly successful at school in BOTH humanities AND science / maths. Demonstrated excellence with words and numbers will be important.

Professional Experience

Can you demonstrate high performance? We’re open to a wide range of different pathways you might have taken:

• You could be a new graduate, tempted to take a role in a consulting, law or accounting firm.
• You could have one to five years of professional experience.
• You may have a background in engineering or planning but be frustrated at the slow pace of progression and bureaucracy.

Personality

• You will have incredibly high standards and attention to detail. You can’t stand to see different font sizes or misaligned margins in a document. This sort of thing may make you angry and you will fix it.
• You are highly driven and ambitious for your own career. If you end up as a middle manager at an accounting firm, you will deeply regret wasting your potential.
• Type 2 fun. If you thrive on challenge, ownership, and the kind of effort that feels better in hindsight than it does in the moment, you’ll feel right at home.
• You are mission-driven and want to change the world. A boring corporate job doesn’t do it for you.
• You work well with others, are kind, communicate clearly, and don’t let ego get in the way of progress. You care about being effective, not just being right.
